Show LAST OF DEAD ARE IDENTIFIED CASTLEGATE, March 19. Following Fol-lowing the recovery of the bodies of Pete Dumis and Basil Bit tins, the last two men to be found after the explosion in Mine No. 2 of the Utah Fuel company more than a week ago, 171 miners entombed by the blast have now been accounted for and identified. Georfge Wilson, who was asphyxiated asphyx-iated while endeavoring to reach j the miners shortly after the last explosion ex-plosion Saturday morning, was last night announced by the company as the one hundred and seventy-second man to lose his life from the disaster. dis-aster. The two bodies which were lying in the temporary morgue yesterday were identified as Thomas Pelly, Jr.. and Steve Speros. Tomorrow will mark the close of Utah's greatest mine calamity, when the body of Basil Gittins will be . buried at the Castlegate cemetery. ; Pete Dumis was buried yesterday. Many of the families who were loft without means of support other than the state compensation, have already left Castlegate to join relatives rela-tives in other parts of the country. Those who have decided to remain in Castlegate are being furnished homes by the Utah Fuel company. |
