instruction president wm win budge and some other leading elders have just completed a missionary the various wards of the stake T they ey visited and held meeting with us on monday night last our meeting house bouse was densely crowded at the appointed hour the discourses delivered were grand in their old tithe time gospel simplicity city and there was a power manliest manifest that must have penetrated the inmost recess of every heart beart never in the history of our ward have we enjoyed better or more richly and divine ly inspired teachings the party completed its labors by holding forth in woodruff and randolph on tuesday and wednesday judging from our experience it is sat sate e to say that atthe the labors of these men of god will be greatly appreciated throughout our snowbound snow bound vall valleys 0 1 our first ball elo for the season held friday night was well attended and a good social time was the result this evening eve ninar elders jonathan golden and elias kim Kin ball iball met with a large and appreciative audience have recently been called with elder E M of st charles this stake to act as the stance presidency of the they Y M au M 1 I A associations they reported that they had with the exception of randolph and woodruff to the south of us which they purpose visiting the next two days met with all the associations in the stake elder elias kimball gave us a brief narrative of his late experience in the southern states as a missionary which was of an animating faith promoting character brother golden kinball kimball counseled the officers of the associations to be broad and liberal minded and especially to use good judgment in giving a wide range of subjects and to suit subjects to the capacity of the te person appointed and ti take a course to draw oy persuasion and loving kind kindness ness our young men into line as rons ons of zion by the way rich eich county is blessed with a half dozen returned missionaries five of them have come home within the past year and the other within the past two years ane prudence of the presidency of the stake is manifested in having h these men in active service as home missionaries as also in many other places on our little sphere on friday evening brother john cox of woodruff and three others were lifting a very heavy log over one end of a wagon here in town it seems that the tour four were on the side ri il earest the wagon when brother cox found that he could not lift with one derand he be got on the other side of the log and as it was about to be thrown over he slipped and itzell on him birn and he very narrowly escaped with his life AS it was there was a piece of flesh ripped off his head as large rs ra a mules auoe starting from the upper part of his forehead to
