Show IIS FAIL IN CUP EFFORT Bingham Soccer Team Proves For-mer For-mer Victory No Fluke by Decisive 3 to 0 Win. Locals in Finals. The Utah Copper soccer team proved its superiority at the English game at Utah Copper ball park Saturday Sat-urday afternoon, when it won handily from the Vikings in the semi-finals of the Daynes Cup series, 3 to 0. The victory, after playing these Norsemen to a tie the previous week, not only gave the locals the right to play Salt Lake for the cup, but also added another victory to the regular league games, as it was decided before be-fore the contest that the game would be counted as a league game also on account of the lateness of the season. This double victory gives the Utah Copper lads a clean slate for the season, sea-son, with all games won, and only one tied. Ilinglmm has proved its superiority thus far this season, and only a mrr-aclc mrr-aclc can keep them from winning not only the Daynes Cup, but also the state championship. Hut getting back to the game of last Saturday. The teams lined up as selected, se-lected, and everyone was on his toes when referee Whitting' started the contest with a blast from his whistle. The enemy pressed, and two brilliant saves by Wharton kept the visitors from scoring. Both teams played a trifle too rough to suit his majesty, the referee, and time was taken out while his nibs warned both sides. The last fifteen minutes of pfay saw the ball at both ends of the field, although the clever saving of Wharton, Whar-ton, made it impossible for the enemy en-emy to ring the bell.
