Show FIRE F GHTER5 DISCUSS PUMPS Monthly Meeting of Fire .Laddies in Joint Session Tuesday Evening Shows Necessit y ofNew . Equipment. Equip-ment. The regular monthly meeting of Companies No. 1 and 2 of the Bingham Bing-ham Canyon Volunteer Fire Department Depart-ment was held at Hall No. 1 Tuesday evening with about 30 members present, pres-ent, including Fire Chief Carl Carl-son, Carl-son, still swathed in bandages, as the result of being burned in the great , fire of two weeks ago. Much time was spent in discussing the late fire, the present equipment, the hick of fire fighting apparatus, etc., and with the pump demonstration demonstra-tion which was held on the following day, the matter was dropped, until after the demonstration. ' . It was the-consensus of opinion that even with new pumps, the local equipment will still be below par with the equipment as used by other towns of the state. -' Most of the discussion followed the regular meeting, when many mem- : bers felt more free to express themselves. them-selves. Several expressed thmselves as feeling that only a new truck with proper pump equipment would help ' the local fire fighters in their efforts ' at saving property, while others felt that the best pump in the . world would be of little benefit without a good truck to get it to the seat of the fire. . f The last lunch of the season was then brought forward, and as usual, Four Foot Six did his stuff by assisting assist-ing those in quest of food. All kinds of sandwiches were in attendance, plenty of fruit, soda pop, Art Macke, Ernie, Andy Gump, The Wild Swede, the . Biscuit-Shooting Lawrence, and in fact everything that goes to make a real feed was on hand. . ; Bert Hocking gave several whistling and vocal selections, being prompted .. by some J of the ', members, ,; which - . . brought forth much, laughter. .... J , ' It was the las. "fee,d'V meeting until , September,, when oostilitiea with, the j. eats will again be resumed. ' t |
