Show WORLDS FAIR WOMEN. Roy Elder County Ladies to the Front. LOCAL AMITO'TV OFFICERS CIIOSEX. Every Lady Should Vote for tho Emblem Flower of Utah The Sego Lily Leads. The ladies of Rrigham City held a mass meeting in tho opera house, Oct. 3rd, 1SA2, to select officers to work in the interest of the World's Fair at Chicago, in 181)3, in order that Box Elder County might have a creditable showing. The appointment appoint-ment of Minnie J. Snow by the Territorial Board of Lad' Managers, as president of the county, with authority to organize county and : ward associations, was read, also an explanatory letter urging the ladies to take immediate and ! decisive action in the matter. j President M. J. Snow spoke with enthusiasm on the subject,soliciting I all to have an interest, that the women of Utah might be put on a true basis before the whole world. Said we should use our talents and abilities to let the people know we are not the low, degraded class they have hitherto pictured. Impressed Im-pressed on all present the importance import-ance of their casting a vote for the Emblem Flower of Utah that is now being balloted for in Salt Lake City. The candidates for this honor are the Sego Lily, Indian paint brush, Primrose, Wild Roseand Margurite. The Sego Lily lias so far taken preference pre-ference on account of its bulb being used as a food by some of Utah's earliest settlers. Every lady in the county is requested to send a card to Miss May Preston, No. 74 V. North Temple St., Salt Lake, designating the flower of her choice. Mrs. Wright, Mis. Reese, Mrs. Minnie L. Snow and Miss Williamson William-son each spoke in favor of the World's Fair movement. The following officers were then appointed ap-pointed and sustained: FIRST WARD. President, Minnie L.
