Ricky Archaleta, 55 pounds, Salt Lake City Police Athletic League, scored a unanimous decision over ten year old 60 pounder, Rudy Valdez of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Club in the opening fight. Archaleta is eight years old. Vernal's Preston Burr, an eight year old 56 pounder, Vernal Boxing Club, toppled Ryan Lopan of Price, ten year old, 60 pounds, on a unanimous decision. deci-sion. Burr won all three judges' cards at 60-57. Burr got in a good number of shots in the first round and had Lopan in the corner and against the ropes twice. Burr delivered a number of shots to Lopan in the second round and both fighters dished out good punches in the third round. Jimmy Lee, Vernal Boxing Club, eight years old, 60 pounds, defeated Ray Beck of Price, ten years old, 70 pounds, due to a unanimous decision. Lee won two cards 60-58, 60-57 and Beck won the other judge's card, 60-57. Price's 60 pounder, Joe Passarelli scored a unanimous decision over Ricky Sanchez of the Police Athletic League in Salt Lake City. The first round was Passarelli's all the way as he connected with hard shots to Sanchez and had the Salt Lake City fighter in the corner three times. Sanchez had Passarelli backing up early in the second se-cond round, but Passarelli got in some good shots. Passarelli connected for many shots to Sanchez' head and body in the third round. Joey Lopez, Police Athletic League, Salt Lake City, toppled Vernal Boxing Club's Jay Burr, 65, due to a unanimous decision. Burr delivered some early shots to the head of Lopez, but Burr also charged into some shots by Lopez. Burr delivered some wild shots in the first round. Both fighters dished out a number of good punches in the second round and Burr shook Lopez with a shot in the third round. However, Lopez got in some good punches also in the third round. Vernal Boxing Club's 70 pounder Chris Crites and the Police Athletic League's Robbie Montoya staged a battle bat-tle royal. Montoya won the fight on a split decision as he won two cards, 59-58 and Crites won one by the score of 59-58. Both fighters blasted each other with shots in the first round and Crites fell down once due to a slip. Montoya delivered mighty shots to the body and head of Crites, but Crites also got in some good punches. Crites delivered some early punches in the third round, but Montoya turned on the gas and connected con-nected with some shots. It was Harrison all the way in the first round and Frantz was forced to take a standing eight count. Harrison continued con-tinued to pour it on as he backed Frantz into his own corner. Harrison turned Frantz completely around with one punch and continued to pressure Frantz with a heavy attack in the second round. Vernal Boxing Club fighter, Flynn Paulson, 95 pounds, defeated Police Athletic League's Mike Brown on a unanimous decision. Paulson connected for some good shots in the first round and had Brown in the ropes. Paulson delivered some shots in the second round and third round and Brown also got in some good punches. Holding was a problem in this fight.
