Show Gets probation for bad checks A South Dakota man received 18 months probation, including a 90-day jail stay, from 4th District Judge David Sam Tuesday as a result of a guilty plea to writing $521 of checks against a closed account. Michael J. Kling, 25, of Keystone, was also fined $1,000 and ordered to pay restitution of $100 to John's Bestway Market, 2280 South 1500 East, and $421 to Vernal Drug, 21 East Main St. Judge Sam suspended all but 90 days of a one-year sentence in the Uintah County Jail. Kline pleaded guilty to the third-degree third-degree felony charge Aug. 3 in 4th District Court. |
