Show MURDERESS MUST DIE. Martha Waco Will he Electrocuted at Sing olng. Albany, N. Y., March 17. Governor Roosevelt has refused to commute tho senteneo of Mrs. Martha Place, tho Brooklyn murderess, and she will bo electrocuted some day during next week at Sing Sing prison. In his memorandum announcing tho decision, Governor Roosvelt says: "There Is no question about the woman's wo-man's guilt, and no question of her sanity. All Unit remains Is tho question ques-tion as to whether I should bo justified in Intcrfcrrlug to save a murderess, on the ground of her sex, when no justification justi-fication would exist tolntcrfero on behalf be-half of a murderer. Tho murder was one of peculiar deliberation and atrocity. atroc-ity. To Interfere with the course of the law in this case could bo Justified only on the ground that never hereafter, here-after, under any circumstances, should capital punishment bo inflicted upon any murderess, even though tho victim vic-tim was herself a womau, and even though the victim's torturo preceeded her death.
