(This will count one vote for every candidate that has a Pointer left down over his name.i r " lii 'i 'I ini n 1 1 i IMw innnf i W Mli I i ii i 1 1 ii ii iii ii mil How to Vote a Straight Ticket Having closed the Curtain Pull the Party Lever bearing the name or emblem of your Party over to the right UNTIL THE BELL RINGS, and then let it go back. This turns down to a voting position all of the Pointers of the candidates of your5 party. (Fig. 2.) The ringing of the Bell informs the voter that the Party Lever has been pulled far enough to engage the registering mechanism. The turned down Pointers indicate the names of the candidates can-didates for whom the vote will be cast. Leave the Pointers as they are (down in a voting position.) posi-tion.) Move the Red Handle of the Curtain Lever to the left a?v far as it will go. This will count your vote, open the Curtain, and set the machine for the next voter. CAUTION Before moving the Curtain Lever back to the left, be sure that a Pointer is down over the name of every candidate can-didate you wish to vote for. FIG. 2. VOTER PULLING OVER A PARTY LEVER. THE ABOVE CUT SHOWS That the voter has indicated his vote as follows: Has puffed puff-ed Party Lever "C" and Split for Treasurer "B"; has turned down the Pointers for the three Assessors "9A, 9B, 9C"; has turned the Question Pointers 1 and 2 to "Yes" and 4 to "No." As the above operation only indicates his vote, he can make any changes he desires before moving the Curtain Lever. Moving the Curtain Lever back to the left counts the vote, opens the Curtain, and sets the machine for the next voter. Remember, the Pointers must be LEFT DOWN over the names of the candidates to be voted for. ' Voting machines are on public exhibition at Headquar- I ters of all Political Parties, at the City Hall County Court M House, Fire Station No. 2, Shaw's Store, Five Points.
