Show COLD MEDALS FOR SCHOOL 00AI0BS Lorenzo Richards and Lee Purrlng-ton, Purrlng-ton, members of the Weber academy class of 1914, have purchased a gold medal and offered It as a prize to the winner of the final school extemporaneous ex-temporaneous speaking contest this year The purchase of the medal and its purpose is In line with the movement instituted three years ago for the promotion of oratory, debating debat-ing and public speaking in general. The first medal was given by Peter Knslus and Irvin Nelson, graduates of the school, as a prize in oratory The second one was given by Benjamin Benja-min Henderson and Jesse Cottle, also for oratory The Richards-Purrlngton medal Is a diamond 6haped solid gold plate with the letter vV" engraved on the upper half and an olive wreath slg-nlficani slg-nlficani of victory, In relief of the lower half It was made especially for the donors and Is on exhibition in the window of the J S. Lewis t Co. jewelry store. |
