s ff f i C of ho U still promises a ow depot for this afternoon a special bearing president charles francis adams canaper galloway and several other union pacific magnates arrived in ogden lion D H pecery and A H nelson esq ot the public committee appointed some time ago it 13 BO long since this first action was taken that we have now forgotten the exact date to agitate the building of a depot compatible with the commercial importance and extended railroad facilities of the junction city went to the depot to interview the president and obtain his views as to whether the structure which has go long been erected in air would shortly be materialized and grace our beautiful city or not oh his arrival mr adams paid a visit to the U P hospital on eighth street and when he re turned he was apparently in a to off to salt lake city but he did find time enough however to inform the gentlemen present that work would be commenced as soon as a few minor details which would take a lew weeks to complete are disposed of another member of the party how ever said that the gentlemen of the U P intend to visit the officers of the C P to see if they are prepared to commence operations it seems to us that wo have heard a similar story to this on a previous occasion only a few days ago the 0 P people informed mayor peery that they are waiting on the U P A member of the firm of van brunt fe howe architects of kansas city and boston is along with the party and made numerous inquiries as kind of building material obtainable tai in this vicinity its quality and accessibility from mr adams conversation it Ts evident it is the intention to commence operations at some time in a few weeks he said but then it is remembered that last year he promised that work should be commenced com minced at a given date this date has passed by several months and still there ia no change still faint heart neer won fair lady and we still hope that the promises of the president of tho U P will be made
