Show A Criticism. Spanish Fork, March 6, 1895 Editor Dispatch: Permit me, through the columns of your paper, to express my earnest opinion in regard to the duet, which was rendered at the third grand Eisteddfod of the Wehh nationality, held at this place. Two different DartieB, the one from Spanish Fork and the other from Lehi. entered and competed for the small prize allowed for the rendition of the selection, 'Love was Playing Hide and Seek." No. 1, the Rowe sisters of Spanish Fork, cheerfully and unassumingly 1 mounted the platform without copy jor accompaniment, and after having struck the formal key note, proceeded to do justice to the selection. Being the common understanding amoDg the contestants of the present that no instrument should accompany a prize selection, the director of No. 1 omitted the same, as the organ acom-paniment acom-paniment naturally would suggest a note, where otherwise the nots would be improperly sounded. No. 2. of Lehi, Mrs, Laura Salczer and Miss Emerett Cutler, came next, and after the introduction on the organ, or-gan, the two voices rang out in full force, and notwithstanding the alto voice missing four measures on the change of 6-8 time andante while dwelling dwel-ling on the word "spring," and also omitting the rest on the words "we re call," the writer fairly agrees with the style of No. 2. The attributes of No. 1 having been compiled, the one adjudicator, Profes-eor Profes-eor II. E. Giles, did not point out these j errors of No. 2, but suggested that the two dinerent parties competing be given a prize each for good work acu complished. - - The adjudicator could but encour'e' No. 1 in regard to the "voice cu r displayed by No. 2 as the lattef ge nearer to Salt Lake city and tUre" privilege 01 being better into' nvea that direction.
