Show "A Thinker'' think3 that our Chief Justice is slow for the growing business of the courts in Utah. He I accuses the Utter of waiting the time of juror.-, litigants and iutendiu? citizens, while spinning yarns au-1 discussing unimportaiit iopie with anyone who would consent to be thus j bored. Doubtless this correspondent ta right in the main, as we have heard the same from others having buiiness before the coutl But to be slow is a judicial peculiarity which we do not incline to complain of. The trouble has been that heretofore our judges and other experimenters have been too "fast" The rapidity of their performances while in office has only been equaled by the celerity of their eiit therefrom. Festina lente is a good maxim for unpracticed judges, although not set down among the law terms. |
