DUCHESNE ELEMENT ARY-T- he Students of the Week for September and October were honored this past week with Mr. Caldwell presenting them with certificates and a patriotic pin. Students are nominated and chosen weekly by faculty.. Those who have been chosen include: Angel Luna, Jessica Hahn, Desiree Flint, Landon Dcspain, Kayla Reymond, Candace Manet, Anthony Rowley and Josh Verde. Mrs. Myrtle Cook waain charge of thia activity and aaid then wen acme excellent atariea turned in. The atudenta then shared their atonies with their elapses. Students created many masks Kristy Clegg, fourth grade, was named one of Myton November Elementarys Students that wen displayed throughout the month. All who participated wen given a certificate. Masks wen made from a variety of things, ranging from paper plates to ceramics. Sixty-fivstudenta participated in the pumpkin carving contest. Their pumpkins wen on display in e of the Month. . , the library. A certificate of participation and a pencil wen given to all 65 participants. Awards wen given for the scariest, most original and cutest pumpkin from each grade. Winners include: Consuela Maacarena, Tiffany Roybal, Tyson ODriacoll, Angelo Chacon, Avery Checara, David Wopeock, Stephanie ODriacoll, Virgil Burns, David Swenson, Demi Chimburaa, Lari-dor- a Tapoof, Casaaty Wiaeiup, Daniel Santio, Ruthel Johnson, Brian Rasmussen, Sheila Iorg, Colby Keel, Melissa Betts and Jeri Carter. Those who won received a certificate for two dollars towards books at the book frdr. A costume parade and spook alley wen held as well The PTA famished homemade rootbeer and treats. STUDENTS OF THE MONTH-Octo- ber Students of the Month at West Middle School are 0 to front r): Iorg (sixth grade), daughter of Danny and Carol Iorg; Nate Parish (seventh grade), son of Archie and Terisa Parish; Edward Reynolds (sixth grade), son of Edwaid and Carolyn Renolds. The two recently attended Upward Bound activities held in Orem and Heber City. Other Union High Upward Bound students who participated in foe enrichment activities included Branden Womack, Rudy Montoya, Trent Fausett, Samuel Anderson, Kathryn Anderson, and academic advisor Melody Scholes. Only five percent of all high school students receive this award cadi year, and less than 12 of one percent are honored for two or more years. VOCATIONAL STUDENTS-Thr- ce students were chosen as Vocational Students of foe Month at West Middle School for the month of October. These students were chosen because of their outstanding achievements in home economics, industrial arts and businesscomputers.
