Altamont as he was observing Brians fourth-grad- e music class last week. Fourth grader Weston Goodrich said he Ulus going to music class and "getting some time off from all that other stuff," like math and reading!" Chance Oman said he likes musical games, while classmates Rashelle Lindsay and Jason Swenson agreed they have "a fun music teacher." When they were unable to find a suitable rental house in the Altamont area, Mr. Gibeon and his wife, Heather, settled in Roosevelt; and he commutes daily from there to Altamont Brian muses that he came to Altamont because there was an opening, and he needed a job; but he stayed an because he loves the community and the people. He recently accepted the position of conductor for the Uintah Basin Symphony Orchestra. This gifted music lover never wastes time which he can fill with musical pursuits! The new music teacher, Mr. Brian Gibeon, was bom in Salt Lake, gnw up in Denver, attended BYU, did his practice teaching at Bingham High School teacher Brian Gibson, Altamont a demonstrates new Elementary, piece for David Nelson, Kasey Seth Goodrich and J.R. While at the university, Mr. Gibeon kept busy participating in many musical groups. These include marching band, pep band, symphonic band, symphonic orchestra, philharmonic orchestra, jazi ensemble, synthesis, trombone choir and tubaeuphonium ensemble. Following his mid-yegraduation, Brian found that there was an opening for a music teacher who would teach at both high school and elementary levels in Altamont Principals and teachers at both schools were happy to do some reorganizing of class time so that students could participate in music ar instruction. At Altamont Elementary Mr. Gibeon has a band, and he teaches two half-hogeneral music classes per week for each grade K through sixth. At Altamont High he teaches general music to the eighth grade and conducts the junior high school band, senior high school band, high school choir and pep band. He is currently taking another ETM course.
