The community Yule tree will be trimmed & lighted in time for his visit as in the past, ac cording to the Sandy Christmas committee. The annual visit is sponsored jointly by the Sandy Lions, Fire department & Sandy City. In the past Santa has greeted the chil dren at the site of the commun ity Yule tree but sponsors of the event decided that the weather will be too cold this year. Glen Carson heads the com mittee in charge of general ar rangements for the visit. Mem bers include Glen Petersen & Lionel Brady. I ) Scouters of the East Jordan district will hold two annual meetings in the near future, according to a recent announcement. The first, the annual district meeting, is scheduled for Thursday, Dec 29, at a place to be announced later. The meeting wilL be attended by the East Jordan stake presidency, ward & stake MIA superintendents, ward bishoprics & troop post committees, Explorer advisors & scoutmasters with their assistants, the district scout committee & the wives & partners of those mentioned. A feature of this meeting will be the presentation of the "Silver Bee" award. The annual meeting of the council will be held at the fairgrounds coliseum in Salt Lake on a date to be announced. District scout officials expressed the hope that at least 100 members of the East Jordan district will be in attendance at the latter meeting.
