Softball Team Places First The North Summit Softball Team was recently awarded first place in the Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation 2001 Softball League. For the entire season, the girls had 12 wins and only one loss. For the final tournament the girls went 3-- 0. The team consisted of the entire Varsity Softball Team of North Summit, which included: Julie Hewson, Sarah Searle, Marcia Dent. Tanah Snyder, Amanda Burton, Cassie DeJong, Amber Wood. Amber Oldham, Audrey Banks, Randi Snyder and Kristy Brierley. Blaire Judd, a former Lady Brave, also helped out, since she was still eligible to play. In addition. Brenna S Morgan , Utah Judd and Heidi Hewson were there when the team was ruDrung short on Meghan Daugherty was recently asked by Utah State H:A Executive Secretary, Brett Evans, to perform three songs at a banquet held at the National Leadership Conference for State FFA Officers. The conference was held in June in Park City at the Grub Steak Restaurant. State Officer teams represented included Utah, Arizona. New Mexico, and Colorado. In addition Meghan has auditioned lo represent Utah and become a member of the National FFA Choir at the National Convention in Louisville Kentucky. She will find out in August if she made the choir. The National FFA Organization is the largest Youth Organization in the world, with over 450,000 high schixil students as members in the United Slates. players. The sister of the pet of the week is also here at the shelter. She has classic Siamese coloring, white and black. She is animal 4661. Cinderella is a white and orange, short haired, female rat. She has not been spayed. Cinderella has been with us for about a month and is really ready to get out of here. If youd like to adopt Cinderella call the shelter and ask for animal 4606. . Besides the animals listed we luive two other cats and two dogs for adoption. Come visit the shelter to see all of the animals. Also pictured: She is a very affectionate dog and needs a good home. She is a four year old I Jibrador RetrievcrRottweiler mix. She is spayed and has a docked tail. Ask for animal 4678. Daisey the treewalker coon hound is still here desperately wanting someone to giver her a good home. She is animal 4618. The black lab is still here ready for adoption. He is two years old and has been neutered. He is a great dog. Ask for animal 4680. W'e have two stray dogs in that we are trying to find the owners. The first is a young Australian cattle dog she was found in the Chalk Creek basin. She is around 9 months old. Her hind left leg has been injured. We are also holding another stray found in the lower Chalk CreekCoalville area. She is a plump, black cocker spaniel mix. She is a very friendly dog and does not bark very often. If either of these dogs are yours or you might know who the owner is please call the shelter we would like to see them go to their original owners.
