It Is necessary to make kindergarten kin-dergarten fit into the school system efficiently and at same time not to incur too great an additional expend-of expend-of mone y. The adoption of a kindergarten in the Jordan District marks the district as one of the first of the rural systems sys-tems in thi., section to foster the plan. The Xational Kindergarten As.wi-i As.wi-i ation has sent representatives into all sections of the country lately and , can led an active campaign to aiouse internet in this work and the success of the undertaking is largely due 10 the activities of this organization. As progress is marked along other lines of endeavor it is also well defined de-fined in the fields of education and mental development. This kindergarten kinder-garten movement has been long sought after by teachers as well as parents and other interested persons. Boginning next year the students of the age of 5 years at Copperfield, Hy-land Hy-land Boy and Bingham will be able to attend the kindergarten instruction. instruc-tion. In the past it has been necessary neces-sary due to' the crowded condition of the schools to eliminate all children who were not actually six years of age from school altogether. Therefore There-fore the child of nearly six was compelled com-pelled to wait another year before Starting to school, The result of the loss of such a year in later life can be readily appreciated. A similar step in being very grave ly considered in the higher fields of education. The induction In various sections of the state of Junior Colleges Col-leges to take the first year students from the Universities is the step being be-ing considered. Bingham Canyon could indeed profit by the presenee of such an institution. Also there Is planned the elimination of duplicate dupli-cate courses in present school administration admin-istration which according to the educational edu-cational authorities will save one year's time in twelve. Wherefcre i allowing the student to complete the i grade and high school courses in 11 years. Indeed a marked improve ment over the present system providing pro-viding the same result can be obtain-j obtain-j ed in education. It shall be our intention to keep the people of Bingham Canyon duly Informed as to activities along these lines. |
