Show More spring recipes here SPRING SONG DESSERT Vi cup sugar 13 cup water 1 pound fresh rhubarb 1 package strawberry gelatin and 1 package orange gelatin Combine sugar and water in saucepan, stir until sugar is dissolved. dis-solved. Boil 3 minutes to make a syrup. Cook rhubarb, cut in 1-inch pieces in syrup until tender. Cool, drain and reserve the syrup. Dissolve Dis-solve strawberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Add Vi cup syrup from rhubarb and 23 cup cold water. wa-ter. Chill until it begins to thicken, then fold in rhubarb. Pour into IVt quart mold. Meanwhile, dissolve orange-flavored gelatin as directed on package. Chill until thick and syrupy. Beat with rotary beater until un-til light and fluffy. Pour into mold on top of strawberry-rhubarb layer. Chill thoroughly. Unmoldon serving plate and garnish with orange slices and whole strawberries. |
