The Marquis of Hartington publishes a card, saying: "No j proposals in regard to the demand of Irish members for legislative independence have been communicated to me. 1 see no reason to depart in any degree from the declarations declara-tions I made and the opinions I expressed in my speeches in the late election in Lancashire Lan-cashire and elsewhere, on the policy announced an-nounced by Mr. Parnell as leader of the Irish Parliamentary party.
