Some important changes are to take place the .first of the year among the Union Pacific oflicials for this section of the country, Mr. P. P. Shelby is promoted pro-moted from the general freight agency at Omaha to the position of Traffic Manager Mana-ger of the Union Pacific, with head office in Salt Lake City. Mr. Shelby is considered con-sidered one of the exemplary men of the country and most able and worthy of the promotion conferred upon him. Mr. J. A. Monroe is raised from assistant assist-ant general freight agent at Kansas City to Mr. Shelby's vacated position at Omaha. Mr. J. S. Tebbets, the affable and competent com-petent division freight agent of the Union Pacific for the past three years, yesterday received the most hearty congratulations of his host of lady and gentlemen friends in Salt Lake on his promotion from here to Mr. Munroe's former position at Kansas Kan-sas City. Mr. Tebbets has established himself a friend to Utah and her citizens by the provision of special spe-cial rates to the producer on many articles of trade. Everybody will be pleased with the deserved promotion which has come to Mr.. George J. Need-ham, Need-ham, for the past four years a most efficient attache of the Union Pacific at Salt Lake.1 -Mr. Needham assumes the responsible position vacated by Mr. Tebbets, Teb-bets, and in being familiar with the Coast business and railroad, matters in particular, particu-lar, Mr. Needham is sure to prove the right man in th6 right place. The Union Pacific Railway Company is characterized character-ized by one commendable trait, most prominent and noticeable, and that is promoting their employes when opportunities oppor-tunities permit.
