Show GREAT THEATRICAL EYEXT. Eugag-cment of a. Powerful Com-j Com-j pan j- for a. Three Nights' En. j g-ag-ement at the Theatre. j Perhaps the most important engage-j engage-j ment of the theatrical season in this city will begin next Thursday evening and j continue throughout the week at the j Theatre. Upon this occasion the sterling j actor, Mr. Louis Aldrich, supported by what may justly be called the greatest dramatic company at present organized in this country, will appear in two great plays, which have achieved tremendous success in England and America, respectively, res-pectively, "In His Power," having had a run of over 225 consecutive nights in London, Lon-don, and "My Partner" having been unreservedly pronounced the greatest American play ever written. Mr. Aldrich s company includes such well-known people as E. J. Buckley, formerly leading man at the Boston Theatre, and at the Madison Square Theatre, New York ; Mr. Joseph E. Whiting, Whit-ing, late leading man of the Union Square Theatre, New York; Mr. Sidney Drew, son of the distinguished Mrs. John Drew, of Philadelphia; Mr. Henry Bergman, from the principal London theatres ; Miss Dora Goldthwaite, formerly leading lad' at Wallack's Theatre, New York, and others of almost equal prominence. The engagement of this exceptionably powerful company is limited to three nights and a matinee, but in order that theatre-goers of this city may have an opportunity to witness the best plays in their repertoire, the management have decided to give "My Partner" on Thursday, Thurs-day, and Saturday nights, and "In His Power" on Friday night and at the matinee mat-inee Saturday. As there will doubtless be a great demand for seats, it would be advisable to secure them early. The sale opens Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. |
