Show THE LEGISLATURE. The House. February 152 p. m. Mr. Laughlin presented a petition from the citizens ol Camas asking for an appropriation for the purpose of fixing roads. Committee on Highways. Mr. Smoot presented a petition from the Women's Christian Temperance Society So-ciety of Salt Lake county, asking that some law be passed prohibiting the sale of any intoxicating liquor. The petition was signed by 500 citizens. Committee on Manufactures and Commerce. , Mr. Smoot presented a petition from the Salt Lake branch of the National Women's Temperance Union in relation to temperance text books being introduced intro-duced in the the schools. Committee on Education. Mr. Kimball presented a petition from the citizens of Rich county asking for an appropriation for the purpose of fixing the highways of said county. Committee on Highways. - . The Committee on Municipoi corporations corpor-ations and Towns reported back the petition pe-tition of the citizens of Alpine county . with a bill to amend the city charter of j Alpine, and recommended that it be passed. Also reported back C. F. No. 28, and recommended its passage. The Committee on Private Corporations reported back H. F. No. 39, and recommended recom-mended that it be put upon its passage. The Committee on Judiciary reported back H. F. No. 9, with a substitute bill, and recommended that the substitute be passed. Mr. Hatch presented a petition in re- f gard to the elective franchise. Commit- tee on Elections. H. F. No. 17 a bill to establish a Territorial Ter-ritorial Reform School was taken up by special order on its third reading, and was being amended when the Democrat went to press. |
