Show Two more Governors "Proclaim." - Topeka, Kansas, Maroh 25.-:tGovernor Martin issued a proclamation to-day reciting re-citing the evils existing under the present railroad strike and calling upon the peace officers of the State to protect the property and see that the commeroe of the State is not interrupted by violence or lawless acts, and to apprehend any such offenders. The support of the citizens is invoked that the commerce of the State .may be resumed. All lawful authority of the State will be exerted ex-erted to support the local officers in the discharge dis-charge of these injunctions and, all persons are warned - against obstructing: the rail-: ways.' . ..... . , " - The Governor says the people are- now in the third week of the greatest business disaster dis-aster that has ever befallen the.-State; the interests-of one-third of its - people are involved; in-volved; the supplies of food and fuel are , cut off in many localities, and the business and industry of the great masses of the people peo-ple are suspended. Governor Ireland Ire-land to-day issued a proclamation or warning warn-ing to all persons engaged in unlawful aots connected with the present strike, and calling call-ing on the law-abiding people of . the State to aid the civil officers in restoring order. |
