Show Morrow's Anti-Chinese Bill. Washington, Maroh 16. The House Committee Com-mittee on Foreign Affairs to-day by a very close vote (7 to 6) postponed consideration of the Morrow Chinese bill, and will instead take up the President's message recommend-the recommend-the payment of China for the outrages perpetrated per-petrated on Chinese subjects in this country. Chairman Belmont, who cast the deciding vote, declared himself opposed to the Morrow Mor-row bill, on the ground of its being a violation vio-lation of treaty obligations. |
