Show "That Reminds Me." -As a rule, when a man commences with "that reminds me," it is best to go away, or go for one's hip pocket ; but late occurrences at Fort Douglas and Washington Wash-ington justify an exception, and remind us of a friend's experience with a China washerman in early days. Matters in the house had been somehow going wrong but not badly enough to warrant a rup ture, for China washermen were not as plentiful in Salt Lake as are patriots in I Illinois, and John knew as much ; still there were no real grounds for fault-finding, and John, after listening to quite a lengthy and stormy scolding, answered in his quiet, patient way: "Too much damn gabbee, gabbee, gabbee !" |
