Show Lewis Morrison's "Hazel Kirke." "Hazel Kirke," as presented by the Lewis Morrison Company at the Theatre last evening, was probably the strongest and best sustained of any of the plays that have been presented on our stage by that company. Lewis Morrison, in his personation of Dunstan Kirke, the iron-willed Scot, showed himself to be an actor of fine ability, and electrified the audience with his touching cry for help I when he knew Hazel was drown i he in his blindness was unable to save her. To those who have seen C. W. Couldock in the character of Dunstan Kirke the part was considered to be equally sustained sus-tained by Mr. Morrison, and during the last two acts there was scarcely a dry eye in the entire audience. Miss Rose Wood in her rendition of Hazel Kirke sustained the part in her usual able manner, and put a great deal of reality into her acting. V The other characters were fairly presented, and in every feature the play was creditable to the company. - |
