Harrison was this morning brought from the penitentiary by one of Marshal Ireland's deputies,, and. spent sometime closeted with his attorney, Arthur Brown, in Commissioner McKay's court, while awaiting the arrival of the prosecuting attorney. It was learned that Detective Warner and his associate, who were expected ex-pected here last night, would not arrive till this evening, Marshal Ireland having received a telegram to that effect, dated, at Green River, and Mr. Varian, for the people, requested that the case be continued con-tinued over till Mondav. Harrison's attorney would be unable to j be present, he said, on Monday, and he reiterated his former arguments for a discharge dis-charge of the prisoner, claiming that there was nothing in our statutes making extradition applicable in cases of larceny or embezzlement. The Commissioner, however, thought differently, and appointed ap-pointed Tuesday . morning at 10 o'clock for the hearing. ' '. Harrison was conducted back to his gloomy confinement, prior to which, however, he was permitted to spend a few dollars in luxuries. He appeared well braced up and wore as serene an expression as though the parties now en route to convict him were some . dear relatives. , ": |
