Show English Rout Egyptian Kebs. Cairo, December 30. A dispatch from Eosch says: Lieutenant-General Stephenson, Stephen-son, commander of the British forces in Egypt, who recently arrived here with large reinforcements, attacked the rebels who had been menaoing the garrison for several weeks. Three hours' fighting ensued, resulting re-sulting in the British troops capturing Gin isst village, near Kosch. The rebels were completely routed. Cavalry is pursuing the enemy. Two guns and twenty banners were captured. The English lost one officer killed and twenty-one men wounded. Egyptian allies of the British lost six killed and thirteen thir-teen wounded. |
