Show ON THREE CHARGES OF C0HAB. John Y. Smith and James - Moyle Come to the Centre and Plead to a Three-Ply Indictment. The even tenor of the Bowers' suit was interrupted for a brief period this afternoon after-noon by the arraignment before Judge Zane of policeman John Y. Smith and foreman James Moyle, of the Temple on three indictments each for unlawful cohabitation. To each and all of the several charges, both men entered a plea of not guilty. . , The indictments against Mr. Smith cover the followins periods of time : From April 1st, 1882, to December 31st, 1882; from January 1st, 1883, to December 31st, 1883, and from January 1st, 1884, to September 30th; 1884, during' which time he is accused of living unlawfully in the marriage relation with Frances Smith and Annie Hilton as his wives. James Movie is indicted for living unlawfully un-lawfully with Elizabeth Moyle and Margaret Mar-garet Moyle as his wives,- from January 1st, 1883T to December 31st, 1883 ; from Janury 1st, 1884, to December 31st, 1884, and from January 1st, 1885, to September 31st, 1885. This is something of .a test, and is thought to meet the emergency, but the outcome remains to be seen. Bonds for each man were fixed in the the sum of $1,000 for the first offense, and $600 each for the two others $2,200-in all. - - ' ' m |
