Show NEW TREASURER AND AUDITOR. They File a Motion for Judgment in Their Suit Against the Present Incumbents. Arthur Pratt and Boliyar Roberts, Governor Murray's appointees for Territorial Terri-torial Auditor and Treasurer, filed with the clerk of the Third District Court last evening, a motion for judgment in the matter of their suits against the present incumbents for possession of the offices and appurtenances. This action will place the cases on the law and motion calendar for the April term, and will in all probability proba-bility obtain for them a hearing during next week, as Judge Zane will give precedence prece-dence to the law and motion calendar, it is understood, at the opening of the term. Even if an appeal be taken from the judgment of Judge Zane's court there will then be left the final recourse of a hearing before the Territorial Supreme Court, and as that body will have a session in the early part of the April term, it is not hazarding much to presume that a very few weeks will witness the installation of the new officers and the retirement of Messrs. Clayton and Jack. Auditor Pratt does not entertain the least doubt but he will soon be placed in possession of the office, and that nothing in the nature of a persistent per-sistent opposition will be offered. |
