Show Sonnd Sense. An exchange says that it is a very easy matter for a newspaper, by the publication pub-lication of one small item of news, to incur in-cur the ill-will of an individual to whom it has been a constant source of benefit for years. It is strange that when such an item is published the individual should jump at once to- the conclusion that the writer had him in view when writing it, and that all the paper'had formerly done for him should be in a moment forgotten, but such is frequently the case. Some people seem to think that a paper should i agree with them in every question, when, of course, such a thing would be impossible. impossi-ble. No matter what side it takes, it is certain to offend somebody. This is one of the beauties of journalism. |
