BLODGETT Clifford Michaelis, general manager for Bountiful City Light and Power Department, has been elected to the board of directors direc-tors of the Intermountain Power Agency (IPA). IPA is the owner and manager of the Intermountain Power Project (1PP), a 1,600 megawatt generating facility near Delta, Utah. Mr. Michaelis has served as Bountiful's representative to the IPA for the past several years. Mr. Michaelis presently serves on the Intermountain Consumer Con-sumer Power Agency board of directors, and the Utah Association Associa-tion Municipal Power System (UAMPS) board of directors. He has been employed by Bountiful City Light and Power Department for the past 14 years and since 1983 has served as director of the city-owned facility. "I greatly appreciate the opportunities and challenges that my position has offered me and I enjoy very much working with dedicated and loyal employees that we have in Bountiful," said Mr. Michaelis. "There have been many improvements and changes within Bountiful's power resources during the past few years and I am pleased to have been a part of them." Prior to being named manager of Bountiful Light and Power, Mr. Michaelis served as assistant manager. He served as a lineman until 1978 when he was promoted to electrical technician techni-cian and placed in charge of the city's six substations and the electrical end of the generation plant. In April of 1981 he was promoted to substation and customer services supervisor with added responsibilities. Two years later, la-ter, he was given the position of plant manager by the mayor and C'a graduate of Bountiful High School, he attended Weber State College and LDS Business College. He has additional schooling in special seminars and through military schools. Mr. Michaelis received his business management degree from LDS Business College. I |
