Show I TIle 1orn Silver A gentleman who has been through the Horn Silver mine stated the other day i that if any ore was left in that property he did not know where it was and is positive pos-itive the mine has petered out We do not know what foundation there is for such a report and there is no means of ascertaining It is a fact however that a very small force of men is being wpiked at the mine and there is no indication of any improvement The last issue of the Frisco Times contains con-tains the following The winze running from the 800 to the 900 has been completed A station is being cut out at the bottom of the shaft which is now finished to a depth of 90C feetThe The air is so bad on account of the shutting off of the draft by the cave in the old workings that it will be impossible to work any number of men to advantage before the proper connections are made It is safe to say that there will be no ore shipped from the mine for several months During the first part of next week con tractors will begin to run the drift from the bottom of the shaft to the ledge a dis tance of about 250 feet Work will be prosecuted at both ends of the drift and should barring another accident be completed com-pleted in from six weeks to two months There will be no opportunity to increase the force of miners until this work is done |
