Show RESULTED FATALLY Henry imiton Dies From Wounds Received 01 Friday Night Last Friday night a drunken row occurred at Becks Hot Springs in which Henry Dalton n resident of rpnfprvll Davis county received wounds which have now resulted fatally Dalton was driving to his home in company with a man named Parley P Evans also a resident of Centerville and it was when they had gotten as far as the Springs that their spree came to a sudden termination Both men were thoroughly drunk and on their way from the city they commenced to quarrel over some thing When at the place above mentioned men-tioned they began to clinch and in their helplessness they fell from the seat to the ground A man who was standing near by rushed up and separated them and it was then found that Daltons right arm had been fearfully fractured and that he was otherwise badly bruised He was taken to the Deseret Hospital and while his wounds were seen to be serious there was no apprehension at I the time of a fatal result He however grew worse on Saturday and yesterday morning at an early hour died It seems that in the fall from the wagon Dalton had struck the ground first and the weight of his own body and that of Evans had come upon his arm The bone snapped and breaking through the flesh it pierced the skin and also cut an artery There was a very free flow of blood and it was from this and from in ternal injuries that the man died Evans who was at the time too drunk to realize what had happened drove on to his home in Centerville Late last night he heard of the result of Daltons injuries and this morning he came to town and presented himself at the Mar L 1tno maJs Office ior arrest vans says that both of them were too drunk to know anything and that the fall was a mutual one of which Dalton was unfortunate I enough to get the under side As there has been no inquest or other investiga tion of the affair Marshal Dyer did not arrest Evans and the latter left the office with the assurance that he would be on hand should he ever be wanted Both men bore good characters and it is hardly likely that an investigation will prove any malice on the part of either Evans is anxious that the matter should be probed and he feels sure of being exonerated |
