Show LAST NIGHTS ACCIDENT Thomas Oattcy Seriously Injured by a Runaway 1 crowd gathered on the corner of Main and Fourth South street last evening even-ing attracted the attention of a DEMOCRAT DEMO-CRAT reporter On reaching the spot the central figure was a man stretched out on I his back with blood over his face and t every appearence of approaching death Another man had been helped to a sitting posture and althoughhis leftelbow was thrown out of placethere was no other outward sign of pain At this point j Dr Hamilton arrived and on examining the prostrate body for a short time he I said Drunk and commenced looking for the other man A hack was hailed and the man with a dislocated elbow was taken to the Doctors office Shortly after the prostrate form was carted to the St Marks Hospital Further inquiry in-quiry developed the following facts The team belonged to exSheriff Jones who was driving His companion was Thomas Oakey of First East Street As the party neared the St James Hotel Mr Jones dropped the right rein and i hauling up on the other steered the frightened team into the corner of Mr J Kimballs residence Here the two men and buggy forcibly parted and the accident acci-dent occurred An inquiry at St Marks Hospital this morning as to the condition I condi-tion of Mr Jones health proved that I Dr Hamilton was not mistaken in his pronounced vcr lict Mr Oakeys injuries in-juries were of a more serious type and he will probably be confined to his bed for a considerable length of time |
