Show Contracts by Telephone Legal The Kentucky Supreme Court has just decided that a contract made by telephone tele-phone is valid and can be sustained in court It has been supposed heretofore that thes difficulty in sustaining an agree meutrmade between parties miles l apar wouIa arise from the want of proof that the parties who did the talking over the wire were the persons they represented themselves to be In the case decided the operator at one end of the line did the talking for the principal and reported the conversation in the hearing of witnesses whose testimony the court admitted on the ground that the operator acted the part of an interpreter The same question isin dispute in some other StatesJ but Kentucky is the firstto furnish a judicial decision upon it As precedents are apt to be followed in law itis i quite possible that the Kentucky decision may be accepted ac-cepted by the courts oToftidr States I Louisville Courier Journal |
