Show BLOODED STOCK A Stroll TfaroujrJi Iffr Sharp Walker 1inc StnMcs Hearing that Mr Sharp Walker had recently made an addition to his already fine stock of thoroughbreds in the shape of some fine imported Ilolstieus a representative rep-resentative of the DEMOCRAT made a call on the Walker stables in search of an item Arriving there the reporter found Mr J Stewart chairman of the Territorial Terri-torial committee on Territorial and County fairs now in town in the interest of the coming fair who in company with two or three friends was being shown OVAl thfi RfnlilAC A lively discussion on the relative merits of local horses was under way Mr Stewart being desirous of arranging a series of races in connection with the fair After passing through various departments depart-ments of horses cattle game chickens etc the party was shown the latest addition addi-tion consisting wa of five thoroughbred Hol stiens four heifers and a bull all yearlings year-lings They have but lately arrived being directly imported by way of San Francisco The Ilolstien strain is noted for its fine milking and beef qualities equal to any in quality and richness of milk They are also splendid butter producers combining in this manner the point necessary ne-cessary to the really valuable cow Mr i Walker proposes to keep them for breeding breed-ing purposes exclusively and hopes in the course of time to have this breed well known to the Territory Cattle men everywhere will welcome such an effort in behalf of elevating local stock I |
