Show A GIRl SUICIDES A Case of Takes Blighted AffcctiouSlic Strychnine A correspondent of the Logan Journal writing from Millville under date of cate April 28th gives the following A sad and melancholly event took place hereabout here-about 3 oclock on the morning of the 24th A young lady by name of Anna Olsen just turned 22 years old committed com-mitted suicide by taking strychnine According to the evidence obtained in the investigation it appears that the young lady came from Sweden to this country last July and has since then kept house for her two brothers broth-ers Shortly after her arrival it appears a young man commenced to pay his ad dresses to her and according to the testimony obtained from witnesses be fore the Coroners jury it appears that a promise of marriage was made but had not been kept through some little dispute that had arisen between them But from his treatment of her on a number of occasions oc-casions by his visits at her brothers place it seems that the feelings of affection of her for him still existed and she thought and expressed to her friends that unless he married her she would kill herself or go crazy The day previous to the sad act shera a more cheerful than a us n I oftheQrcr = undon the evening J uSCJirrenco the young man visited her and stayed until a late hour and he says they parted on good friendly terms She was in good health and of a quiet peaceful disposition and in every respect so fares is known she bore a good character char-acter Her remains were quietly laid away this morning without any ceremony as we cannot feel justified on occasions of that nature to pursue the same course a we would in case of those who die a natural death An inquest held over the remains and a post mortem examination by Doctor Snow of Logan brought out the foregoing forego-ing points I |
