Show WILL BE ELECTED Notwithstanding the denunciation by the Mormon and the untruthful vilification vilifica-tion of John Ilailey by the Republican press that gentlemans strength is daily increasing and his election may be regarded as an assured fact His acts and manly utterances during the campaign cam-paign belie the assertions of his political opponents and the charges of unsoundness unsound-ness upon the principal local question fall harmlessly to the ground Accepting the nomination upon a platform which is as plain forcible and free from evasion as can be expressed in words and giving personally upon the stump the assurance that he will if elected carry I out the wishes of his constituents as indicated by that platform he would indeed be void of honor if he should verify the predictions of his enemies ene-mies who are seeking his defeat by wanton wan-ton assailment of the sincerity of his declarations upon the Mormon question Those who know him best do not believe him capable of so falsifying his pledges and will support him in full confidence that he will prove true to his trust and to the principles which he so forcibly proclaims in his public speeches and that he will pursue the course indicated by them Sharing the be ief in his integrity and having confidence con-fidence in his ability the DEMOCRAT advocates his election as it would I I I support any Democratic nnminon nf equal merit competency and honesty It does not believe that it will ever have cause to regret its advocacy of Mr Haileys claims to again represent the people of our sister Territory and it looks forward with confidence to the next ses ion of Congress when his present assailants ailants will be forced either to acknowledge acknowl-edge their error or stand convicted of wilful falsification and malicious slander I I |
