Show The Hose Company As previously announced in THE DEMOCRAT DEMO-CRAT the regular monthly meeting of the Hose Company took place on Monday evening in the Firemens Hall which is now a pleasant place for the lads to meet in There was quite an amount of business busi-ness done although not all of it is here recorded The resignation of Win Thor ogood an old and useful member of the company was tendered and accepted he having gone to Pocatello working on the rail oad Win Chappie made application for membership which as customary was laid over for thirty days at which time there is no doubt as to his acceptance lie having been a member of the company long years ago When the bills were presented there was one for 15 cents from a leading merchant mer-chant in town for two glasses broken at the picnic on May 20th The bill has been promptly paid and the gentlemans generosity to the fire laddies has been and ever will be duly appreciated But an appreciation of a different sort is gratefully acknowledged to Julius Kiesel of the California Bakery who made the boys a donation of hisbill for bread and cheese on that picnic occasion While speaking about the firemen t I may as well suggest that they take in hand the celebration of thb Fourth of July as the Chamber of Commerce has declined to have anything to with it and the City Council is not likely to evince any great enthusiasm in this matter The fireman will be certain to have the support of the entire community r |
