Show AVhat Will fib an Important Iul1d Decision WASHINGTON September 8 Acting Secretary Secre-tary of the Interior will hear an oral argument argu-ment in case of tho Northern Pacific Railroad Rail-road Company against Henry SI CLeamon in the office of Assistant AttorneyGeneral of the Interior Department Wednesday October 21st The questions at issue are whether the right of the said company under the grant by act of Congress approved July I 2d 1864 is attached to odd numbered sections sec-tions of the public land upon filing its map I of the general route in the Land Office or does it attach at the date of filing the map I of definite location Also what effect did the withdrawal of the map of the general I routo of the amended branch line road have upon the status of the said tracts In view of tho important questions involved in the j case and also the fact that many cases now pending will be governed by the principles I decided therein other attorneys interested in similar cases involving the rights of settlers I set-tlers and the said company or other companies com-panies are invited to be present and will be allowed to express their views either orally or in writing upon the question to be determined deter-mined |
