Show j I MR BROWES FUNERAL S I I The Rites Ocr the Remains of Our I Late Postmaster Since the death of Postmaster W C Browe on Tuesday morning last the remains re-mains have lain at the residence on Fifth South street and were embalmed by Dr J M Benedict preparatory to their being shipped East During the days that have passed since the sad event Mrs Browe has received all the comfort that the efforts of kind I friends could procure her and as a last evidence of the respect in which the gentleman gen-tleman was held it was decided to hold a simple service over the remains before they were taken away At 930 oclock yesterday morning the casket containing con-taining the corpse was placed in i the parlor par-lor and a large number of persons assembled assem-bled to take a last look at the familiar face A short and impressive ritual service ser-vice was read by the Rev Mr Putnam and after this was over the casket was closed and sent to the train The eastbound east-bound D R G carried away all that is left of W C Browe and the bereaved wife took the same train for the home of her husbands parents The destination Newark New Jersey and upon arriving there the last services will be held and the body will be laid away in its last resting place Mr Browe takes with her the profound pro-found sympathy of a multitude of friends all of whom will hope to see her return to this city and take up her residence here again |
