Show AVi IIAVK a beautiful climate in Utah when we have and when we do have our beautiful climate it makes one very poetic or at least lazy which by most is deemed a sign of unexpressed poetry It is not to be expected that there will never be a day which is withont sunshine for Longfellow who is our greatest poet has said that some days must be be dark and dreary But when the dark and dreary days become a little too numerous nu-merous and the days of sunshine and song are few or not at all one is apt to think that it is a return to the times spoken of in the Bible wherein it is said that a day is as a thousand years There is no objection to such a length of days in the Garden of Eden country but there is i in Salt Lake when the days are such as we have had during the past week Yes tprday was a day which seemed even longer than a thousand years and before night and sleep came had become a day of about a thousand and three hundred years while one member of the staff said he thought the estimate short by some two hundred years We could not agree with him although we are sure that the first estimate is correct in every particular It was a beautiful day yesterday and as one sat and watched the snow fall there came reverie and occasionally ejaculations which were not greatly in praise of the man who makes the weather These prayers of praise seem to have had a good effect for today is fair and without great flaw Today proves that those who made ejaculations on the weather are not of the wicked for the prayers of the I wicked availeth not If the weather should continue fine and fair and bring sunshine and song its behavior of the past ten thousand years will be forgiven by those whose prayers do avail Yes of course some days must be dark and dreary and all are willing to have some of them that way but not all of them It would be unconstitutional |
