Contributing Writer It is one thing to remember the faces of your new professor or orthe orthe orthe the students around you that will spend the next 14 weeks with you but it is a totally different story remembering the faces of your new student body officers The Executive Council is the governing body of the Student Association The Council is comprised of the Student Body President Executive Vice Presidents three regional Vice Presidents and the Clubs Organizations and Fine Arts and Lectures Vice Presidents The new officers were elected in an election held during the first week of March Eleven candidates candidates candidates candi candi- dates ran for the seven offices all hotly contested except for the theoffice theoffice office of President which which Jeremiah Watson won ed In April the new Executive Council members were sworn in inand inand inand and have been at work ever since They went through an extensive week of training on their roles and positions a week of intense on the Executive Council he served last year as the Redwood Region Vice President Watson became involved in politics at an early age He ran for Murray City Council at age 20 and became the theyo yo youngest person to ever win the primary nomina nomina- tion As Student Body President Watson represents represents represents on many boards and committees For example he sits on the Board of Trustees the Utah Council of Student Body Presidents and oversees the Presidents President's Cabinet of the Student Association Students and faculty deserve more By more I mean having a Student Body President Greenberg Greenberg enberg I XA 77 E Executive Vice President Last year Greenberg served as the Service Chair in the Student Senate and Presidents President's Cabinet This will be her second year as a apart apart apart part of Student Life and Leadership she is currently completing her degree in General Studies Much like Watson Greenberg sits on many boards and is the ear of the Student Association She sits over the Student Cp Senate MP that listens to and u. u resolves student concerns Her promise for the 2006 2005 school year is to serve the students and to listen to all student needs with much experience in student activities after serving on the Redwood Region board last year She helped plan many activities last year including Shake it Up Dance Monster Mash Stupid Cupid 2005 She is a self-proclaimed self energetic fun involved person Those who do know Kevern will say thatis that thatis thatis is an understatement As the Vice President over the Redwood Region she looks over the t South City Region Vice President The South City Region Vice President Jared Kubly is new to Student Life and Leadership this year much like Vice President Lockhart Kubly a South City Campus student brings leadership experience ence to his post He has served in roles starting early in life as a youth scout leader to his present charge as Assistant Scout Master In the past Kubly has j served on
