Show Veteran's Day services set at Bountiful Cemetery Wed. By TOM HARALDSEN Editor BOUNTIFUL Dedication services of a new Veteran's Monument in Bountiful Memorial Park will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10:15 a.m., in honor of the Veteran's Day holiday. The program, open to the public, will begin with the public singing "My Country Tis of Thee." An invocation will then be offered by F. Weldon Thacker, president of the Bountiful Utah East Stake. Bountiful Mayor Dean S. Stahle will offer opening remarks, and then members of the American Legion will unveil the monument. monu-ment. National and state flag-raising ceremonies will follow. Scott Russon will lead the public in the Pledge of Allegiance, and a dedicatory prayer will be offered by Lt. Col. Malmstrom, Chaplain with the Utah National Guard. The Bountiful High Marching Band will then perform the marching hymns of the five Armed Services, and cemetery superintendent Hugh A. Wigham will follow with remarks. At 1 1 a.m., two minutes of silence for reflection and remembrance remem-brance will be observed, and a wreath laid. The Bountiful band will then play "The Star-Spangled Banner." A benediction will be offered by Father Rudy Daz of St. Olaf s Catholic Church. |
