Show t I Retired professor o I t passes away Zachary Whitney Campus Reporter I It t has been said that a goodteacher goodteacher good goodteacher teacher can make even the most boring subject seem interesting Positive teachers are what every student hopes to find in their most difficult classes Thomas Ellison was one of those remarkable professors I will always remember my last week of school where he taught us the needed skills to survive in inthe inthe inthe the drafting room said Paul Hatch Every EvelY time I shoot a rubber band it will willbe willbe be in memory of Tom Thomas Richard Ellison a former engineering drafting professor at passed away two weeks ago leaving behind his lessons for those he taught Ellison was born in Indianapolis Ind and ended up in Utah He taught at as well as at Utah Technical College from 1964 to 1992 Tom always said hello and I appreciate that sort of basic thing said j Professor Steven Ruffus Ellison enjoyed a myriad of activities Among those he enjoyed traveling going on cruises and painting Ellison had a positive attitude and loved telling jokes My friends and I still talk about how fun he was said Kent Guymon a former student of Ellison He kept our attention and had our respect by his involvement Prof Ellison I Continued on page 3 1 I Prof Ellison passes 1 I Continued from page 1 I and humor with us Ellison had a robust sense sense I of humor and a very positive attitude It was his friendly demeanor demean r that most people remember about him Ellison enjoyed spending time with friends and associates and going out to eat With this in mind the family asked frie friends ds and family to go out to dinner and remember good times rather than sending gifts or flowers Buri Burial l services took place on Wednesday Sept 20 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Ellison's wife Maureen Ellison is a professor currently teaching computer information systems classes at |
