Show I jw l Advice vice Guy U c cl I.- I. Ir 1 fi 1 Dear r Advice Guy I recently got a new job It seems to be going very well weB so far However there is one coworker coworker coworker co- co worker that I just cant can't seem to get along with Whenever I show up he always makes a comment about me showing up either early or late Then throughout the shift he always makes jokes at my expense Everyone there including the supervisor seems to think that hes he's just kidding around but Im I'm not sure I tried during multiple breaks to discuss my concerns with him but it seems futile Then I tried playing along with him and joking back with him That just made it even worse What advice can you offer about the situation Im I'm willing to try anything Sincerely Exasperated Employee Dear Exasperated Employee Im I'm sorry to say that Ive I've never really been in your tion I have s een seen many coworker work co er r conflicts in my day Some were quickly and easily resolved and others are still quite a mess but the best example example example exam exam- I can think of occurred when Homer Simpson gained a new fellow employee His name if you remember correctly was Frank Grimes Frank found himself himself himself him him- self in a somewhat similar situation situation situation situa situa- tion to yourself He was a very capable worker who knew volumes volumes volumes vol vol- vol- vol umes about the nuclear power t f dy it nv i f WJ z f t 7 t J 0 u ut j r f t x 4 f L LImage s Image C Courtesy of F Fox ox industry Yet his technical skills were always outshone by the outlandish antics of Homer Simpson Everything Homer did was amusing to his friends but exasperating to Frank who really really really real real- ly saw Homer as who he truly was a bumbling idiot Frank tried unsuccessfully to humiliate Homer by entering him in a childrens children's model nuclear plant design contest In Inthe Inthe Inthe the end Homer won the contest with his impressive racing stripes es and aerodynamic fins This just made things worse for Homer then tried to smooth things over by inviting Frank Grimes over for dinner This backfired when Frank saw Homers Homer's wonderful home family family family ly and lobster dinner The next day Frank lost it at work and ended up electrocuting himself when he ran around pretending pretending pretending pre pre- pre pre- tending to be Homer Simpson Even at Frank Grimes funeral he was still overshadowed by Homers Homer's stupidity As we can learn from Frank Grimes Grimes' life and death sometimes sometimes sometimes some some- times we just cant can't change the people we work with or the circumstances circumstances circumstances cir cir- cir cir- in which we work but we can avoid electrocuting ourselves So keep on Sincerely Advice Guy C f 6 Image Courtesy of Fox to |
