Show City Creek Grill Adds Looks To Taste By Kathryn Ekstein Contributing Writer If you are looking for a place to eat downtown that is very modem modern with tons of atmosphere excellent service and food to die for go to the City Creek Grill Located in the Double Tree Inn its it's at the heart of downtown Once you arrive youre you're in for a feast both visually and in taste The mere design of the building welcomes and excites your senses with a modem modern look made up of sharp angles and contrasting colors Soft green walls contrast dramatically with the hard cherry wood floors The lighting is bright enough to see clearly yet dim enough to create a relaxing atmosphere Each booth is a astep astep astep step down from the main floor which is situated around a massive glass window A patio is open during the warmer months But wherever you sit the view of the city at night is ing The service is top of the line Scarcely had I taken a seat in the large comfortable booth when our server showed up to get our drinks Along with the drinks came a complimentary complimentary complimentary com com- loaf of fresh baked bread The menu was limited in what it offered but only the finest selections from steak to prime rib can be found on the menu I ordered the prime rib and my date ordered the lemon herb chicken After ordering we had to wait over twenty minutes to see our food During that time our server frequently frequent frequent- ly visited our table to make sure we were satisfied and our drinks were full A mixture of aromas came i from om the kitchen as we watched intently for our food to be brought to us Finally two plates were set before us My plate had a healthy sized slice of prime rib and a large baked potato These covered much of the plate what was left was filled with a mix mix- ture tore of cubes of squash zu zucchini chini egg eggplant eggplant eggplant plant and other vegetables sauteed in ina a sauce that words cant can't do justice justic This vegetable medley is City Creek Grills Grill's trademark and comes with almost every entree they serve If the foods food's appearance sounds good you should taste it My mouth is still thanking me for dinner The combination of of each item I was served played off of each other so nicely I was at a loss for what to take a bite out of next My date had the same vegetable medley but instead of a baked potato he got mashed potatoes and gravy Placed on top of the potatoes was a large boneless skinless chicken breast It had been grilled in an herb sauce making the outer layer crispy with soft moist chicken on the inside One thing that did disappoint me was the raspberry cheesecake dessert Not that I didn't like it I liked it too much All AIl three bites of it When it came I 1 almost asked Where is the other two-thirds two of my dessert And it was not cheap It was however heavenly and was tempted to order a second slice Including dessert desse but not the tip our meal came to 45 Without dessert plan on spending approximately approximately approximately 20 a plate It is definitely worth the money and the wait for the food Overall I l rate the restaurant very highly with only two warnings for people who are interested First it is make willing willing wining will win priced mid-priced so sure youre you're ing to spend up to 55 for dinner for two Second this is not a restaurant you can be in and out of in less that a half hour Plan on spending close to toan toan toan an hour and a half from the time you sit down |
