Show Fin Financial Aid provides educational opportunities Ann Petersen Contributing Writer Every year state and federal financial aid provides educational opportunities for thousands of college and university students around the nation Last year at forty percent of students enrolled enrolled enrolled en en- rolled took advantage of the colleges college's financial aid pro pro- gram Some of the different forms of financial aid are grants academic scholarships and loans In order to obtain such uch help students must first fill out an eligibility tion The application must show that the individual needs financial help and will later determine if the loan will be granted A good grade point average plays a big part partin partin partin in accepting someone for financial assistance Advantages of the program program program pro pro- gram provide that as long asa as asa asa a student is in school no interest interest interest in in- terest will be charged on to the loan Once students graduate they have a grace period of six to nine months before they must begin paying the loan back Students Students Students Stu Stu- dents then have an additional addition addition- al ten years to pay payoff off the loan The financial assistance program allows students who wish to study and learn the right to an education In fact students last year through the help 65 million dollars in in financial aid j A tA work study program was also established to provide p part time jobs to students looking to earn a few extra dollars Ninety-five Ninety percent of these jobs arc offered on the campus some in the Financial Aid office itself With a staff headed by Director Gayle Norman many more college students can be assured of a good education n and a college degree degree degree de de- gree through the help of financial aid If you would like more information in information information in- in formation on the financial aid program see the catalog and schedule or call the Financial Aid Office at |
